Exotic Treasures of Malaysia

After having a delicious continental breakfast at the hotel, we decided to have a chill-out at Chinatown.

Petaling Street is the center of Kuala Lumpur’s original Chinatown. I heard that this place never sleeps.

Chinatown is a great place for local goods and souvenirs at bargain prices. When we entered the area, the shops and people had a great atmosphere; with people welcoming us to their shops. G and Adri were amazed when they saw cheap clothes, fabrics, souvenirs, electronic items, watches, DVDs and also Cds and lots more. Each of us brought small souvenirs like a statue of the front sign of the name of the street. The people there told us that the best atmosphere is at night. We continued at the main street. We wanted to take a look that the imitation of the famous goods like Nike, Gucci, Prada, D&G and Louis Vuitton. There were clothes, shoes and handbag. Chinatown attracts many locals and visitors because the items they can bargain with.

Later on, G and Adri and I wanted to try the different kinds of food. So we went to the Yook Woo Hin. This restaurant is located in the main are of Chinatown. We had Sin Chow Mai, Nagu Hor (stir fried beef slices with flat noodles in egg sauce). It was so delicious :D Then we also tried Dim Sum and Mooncake. G put too much of chilli sauce on her dim sum and had to drink A LOT of water. I warned her……

The Mooncake was so delicious that I wanted to take some back to the hotel. Mooncake consist of a thin tender skin enveloping a sweet, dense filling. There are many kind of filling for the Mooncake. I tried the sweet bean paste. The paste is a sweet red bean that tastes good. The cost of the Mooncake is 33.69MR for a box. G wanted to take some for later cause her mouth was still chilli.

G, Adri and I wanted to go back to the hotel because we were so full from trying all the food. We had so much fun shopping, looking around, talking to different people and most of all bargaining. Chinatown is a great place to look at the different cultures.
